The LIC Flea & Food Holiday Market will be held every Saturday and Sunday this weekend and the following one from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, December 14

Queensborough Performing Arts Center presents “Karaoke at the Movies: Aladdin.” The program is a family-oriented, interactive film series that encourages total audience participation. The crowd can sing and dance along with their favorite characters on screen! Movies are captioned. A trivia contest will be held before the movie. The most enthusiastic participant will win a $100 cash prize. Tickets for all showings are $5 and can be purchased online at www.visitqpac.org or by calling the box office at 718-631-6311. Queensborough Performing Arts Center is located at 222-05 56th Avenue in Bayside.

At noon, experience “Hands-on History: Snowflakes Are Falling” and celebrate the
winter with Rufus King. Learn about old-fashioned, cold-weather fun, read stories, and make seasonal decorations. Event is free. King Manor Museum is located at150-03 Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica.

Devil Science Theater 3K presents a classic Christmas double feature! “Scrooge” (1951) and “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” (1964) will be shown at the Laughing Devil Comedy Club, from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 47-38 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City.  Sunday, December 15

Join the Astoria Symphonic Orchestra & Choir in ushering in the holiday season! The evening features Camille Saint-Saëns’ masterpiece “Oratorio de Noël” and Francis Poulenc’s powerful “Gloria.” Adam Eggleston will be the conductor for the evening. The concert begins at 5 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 43-19 30th Avenue in Astoria. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 in advance for students/seniors and $ 25/$20 at the door. At 3 p.m. enjoy “Holidays Around the World.” Take a musical tour with the Queens Symphony Orchestra through diverse cultural traditions, all bound by the common theme of joy, unity and winter at the LeFrak Concert Hall, at 65-30 Kissena Boulevard in Flushing.

Saturdays and Sundays through December 22

The holiday season is upon us and  LIC Flea & Food Holiday Market has all of your gift-giving needs under one roof. The new holiday market will begin on Saturday, December 7 and will be held every Saturday and Sunday until Sunday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., located inside the warehouse attached to the LIC Flea lot at 5-25 46th Avenue.

Oliver! The Musical”: A refreshed version of this theater classic, presented in a contemporary Steampunk style with echoes of the darker Charles Dickens original and all the twists at The Secret Theatre, 44-02 23rd Street, Long Island City.

Through January 24 

On Saturdays and Sundays or Wednesday through Friday take the opportunity to watch “Jungle Girl” in Tut’s Fever Movie Palace. “Jungle Girl” is a classic movie serial starring Frances Gifford and Tom Neal. This 15 episode serial is filled with stunts, lion-wrestling, battles with quicksand and villainy! It was one of the earliest films to star a female protagonist. Screenings are 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and 2 p.m. Wednesdays-Fridays at the Museum of Moving Image at 36-01 35th Avenue, Astoria. Art in the Garden: Deconstructed Flowers at the Queens Botanical Garden Visitor and Administration Building. Gallery Photographer H. David Stein’s intricate photographs give flowers a particularly layered, multi-dimensional presence, See flowers angles you thought impossible! Legacy: Photographs Emily Fisher Landau’s Gift to the Whitney Museum of American Art at the Fisher Landau Center for Arts. The collection includes 419 works, namely installations, sculptures, drawings, photographs, etc. by numerous key figures in contemporary American Art. FREE. Bring your friends, bring a scarf and gloves and remember to lace up tight! Ice skating season has begun at World Ice Arena at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park! Admission is $5 for all ages on weekdays and $8 on weekends and holidays. To rent skates be sure to bring socks and an additional $5. Monday through Friday the rink is open from 9 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. On weekends it is open: 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday nights; noon. until 4:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. until 9:50 p.m. Saturdays and noon  until 4:45 on Sundays.
