Motorcyclist killed after van strikes group of people in Rosedale

A motorcyclist was killed and several people were injured when a van struck a group of people as they were loading the man’s bike into a pickup truck in Rosedale Friday night, police said.

The 24 year-old victim was riding along Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard that evening when his motorcycle became disabled. A pickup truck and several people met the motorcyclist to help him out at about 8:20 p.m., and, as they were loading the bike into the parked vehicle, a Chevy van hit the rear of the pickup truck and them, cops said.

Another vehicle driving behind the van then struck the rear of the van.

The motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Four of the other people standing on the road and the van’s driver were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.

An elderly pedestrian was killed Friday morning after she was hit by a van in Rego Park, cops said

The victim, a 79-year-old woman, who has yet to be identified by police, was trying to cross 99th Street at about 8:40 a.m. when she was struck as the vehicle was making a left-hand turn from 62nd Road, authorities said.

The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver remained on the scene and the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating.

Van crashes into MTA bus in Flushing

A collision between an airport shuttle and MTA bus in Flushing Friday left 10 people injured, officials said.

The Q12 bus was making a left turn onto Prince Street from Northern Boulevard about 10 p.m. when the van made an illegal right turn onto Prince and struck the bus, cops said.

The bus was not in service at the time of the crash, and was only occupied by the driver, police said.

Both drivers were taken to local hospitals in stable condition. Eight other people, who were reportedly passengers in the van, were also hurt in the crash and taken to area hospitals, according to officials, but the extent of their injuries was unclear.

Van backing out of Ridgewood driveway fatally hits pedestrian

A man was killed in Ridgewood Thursday night when a van struck him as it was pulling out of a driveway, police said.

The 25-year-old driver hit the man on 60th Lane near 75th Avenue about 10:45 p.m., according to the NYPD. The victim, who has yet to be identified by police, was in the roadway at the time of the accident, cops said.

He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
