A conceptual model of “Silicon City,” a technological innovation center in Queens that includes an applied sciences campus, was unveiled today at the Queens Museum of Art.

The model was placed on the museum’s famed Panorama where it will remain on display for visitors through Sunday.

Jukay Hsu, founder of Coalition for Queens, and elected officials were on hand to advocate for Queens to become home to the applied sciences and engineering campus that Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced in December.

According to the Coalition for Queens the campus would bring over 20,000 permanent jobs and over $6 billion of economic activity to the borough.
