Weekend subway service changes

Construction work to upgrade and maintain stations, tracks and signal systems is affecting weekend service on several of the city’s subway lines. The MTA is advising customers to allow for extra travel time if they rely on any of these trains.

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday, February 8 to 10:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2 trains operate in two sections due to track panel installation work north of Nereid Av.

Between Flatbush Av and E 180 St, and via the 5 to/from Dyre Av

Between E 180 St and 241 St.  To continue your trip, transfer at E 180 St.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, A trains are suspended between Jay St-MetroTech and Utica Av in both directions due to track tie renewal north of Hoyt-Schermerhorn.  Transfer between A trains and free shuttle buses.

C

From 11:15 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, C trains are suspended between Chambers St and Euclid Av in both directions due to track tie renewal north of Hoyt-Schermerhorn, and emergency Verizon cable replacement in the Cranberry tunnel.  Uptown C trains run express from Canal Street to 59 St Columbus Circle.

E

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7, to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, February 9, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday, February 9, to 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, Manhattan-bound E  trains run express from 71 Av to Queens Plaza due to track maintenance at 46 St and 36 St.

E

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7, to 5:00 a.m. Monday, February 10, Manhattan-bound E trains skip Van Wyck Blvd and 75 Ave due to signal modernization at Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike.

F

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 10, Coney Island-bound F trains are rerouted on the M line from Roosevelt Av to 47-50 Sts Rock Ctr due to Second Avenue Subway construction

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 10, Coney Island-bound F trains skip 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy due to signal work at Church Av.  For service to these stations take a Coney Island-bound F train to 7 Av or Church Av and transfer to a Queens-bound F or G train.  From these stations, take a Queens-bound F or G to 7 Av or Smith-9 Sts and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F.

F

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 10, Coney Island-bound F trains skip Sutphin Blvd, Van Wyck Blvd and 75 Av due to signal cable installation.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 7 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 10, Church Av-bound G trains skip 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy due to signal work at Church Av.

R

From 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, and Sunday, February 9, Bay Ridge-bound R trains run express from 71 Av to Queens Plaza due to track maintenance work at 46 St and 36 St.

N/R  (Montague Tubes Closed)

At all times until October 2014, there are no[ N] or R trains running between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan.  Late night N and weekend R service are rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge.

No N or R trains in either direction at Jay Street-MetroTech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall.

Late night R shuttle in Brooklyn is unaffected.

D

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, January 31 to 5:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, Brooklyn-bound D  trains will not stop at 7 Av, 47-50 Sts, 42 St-Bryant Pk, and 34 St-Herald Sq.  Brooklyn-bound D trains are rerouted via the C from 59 St to W 4 St due to switch work south of 42 St Bryant Pk.  D service operates in two sections.

Between 205 St and the 2 Av F station. Between W 4 St and Stillwell Av.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, January 31 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 3, Coney Island-bound F trains skip 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy due to signal work at Church Av.  For service to these stations take a Coney Island-bound F train to 7 Av or Church Av and transfer to a Queens-bound F or G train.  From these stations, take a Queens-bound F or G to 7 Av or Smith-9 Sts and transfer to a Coney Island-bound F.

From 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight Saturday, February 1, and Sunday, February 2, G trains run every 20 minutes between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs, due to Fix and Fortify Sandy Recovery Work in the Greenpoint Tube. The last stop for some trains headed towards Court Sq is Bedford-Nostrand Avs.  To continue your trip, transfer at Bedford-Nostrand Avs to a Court Sq-bound G train.

G

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, January 31 to 5:00 a.m. and Monday, February 3, Church Av-bound G trains skip 4 Av-9 St, 15 St-Prospect Park, and Fort Hamilton Pkwy due to signal work at Church Av.

From 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, and Sunday, February 2, Ditmars Blvd-bound N trains are rerouted on the D  (express) from Stillwell Av to 36 St in Brooklyn due to design survey work near 20 Ave.

S   (Rockaway Park Shuttle)

Overnight service disruptions on E, F, M, R trains this week

Starting Monday night, there will be service disruptions on the E, F, M and R lines between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. in Queens and Manhattan for four consecutive weeknights, as part of the MTA’s Fastrack maintenance program:

  • E service will be suspended between Roosevelt Avenue and World Trade Center.
  • F service will be suspended between Roosevelt Avenue and 21 Street-Queensbridge.
  • M service will end early between 71 Avenue and Essex Street each night.
  • R service will end early between 71 Avenue and Whitehall Street each night.

Travel alternatives

  • Take the 7 between Manhattan and 74 St/Roosevelt Av or Queensboro Plaza.
  • Take the N between Manhattan and Queensboro Plaza.
  • In Manhattan, transfer at 5 Avenue/42 Street-Bryant Park 7/D/F, Times Square-42 Street/Port Authority 7/A, and 34 Street-Herald Square D/F/N.
  • Take the R between Queens Plaza and 71 Avenue. When R service ends, E trains run local between Queens Plaza and 71 Avenue until 10 p.m. After 10 PM, take the E Local between Roosevelt Avenue and 71 Avenue.
  • In Manhattan along 8th Avenue, take the A Local or C instead of the E.
  • Along 53 Street, use the D or nearby 6 and N stations instead.
  • Free shuttle buses run local between Queensboro Plaza and 74 Street-Roosevelt Avenue making station stops at Queens Plaza, 36 Street, Steinway Street, 46 Street, Northern Boulevard, and 65 Street.
  • In Queens, transfer between shuttle buses and trains at 74 Street-Roosevelt Avenue 7/E/F or Queensboro Plaza 7/N.

·         For service between 137th Street and 168th Street, use free shuttle buses.

·         For service between 168th Street and 191st Street, use the M3 or free shuttle buses.

·         For Dyckman Street and 207th Street, use nearby A stations; transfer between 1 and A trains at 59th Street-Columbus Circle.

·         For station between 207th Street and 242nd Street, take the A to 207th Street and transfer to free shuttle buses, which make all 1 stops between 207th and 242nd Streets.

·         In Manhattan, the 42nd Street S shuttle operates overnight.

·         Q service is extended to Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

A

From 5:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26 to 10 p.m. Sunday, October 27, there is no A  train service between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue due to track panel work at Lefferts Blvd. and Rockaway Blvd. and track tie renewal and maintenance at Grant Avenue. Trains operate between Inwood-207th Street and Howard Beach-JFK Airport or Lefferts Blvd.

Rockaway Park shuttle operates between Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway.  Free shuttle buses operate in two segments:

1.      Non-stop between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Far Rockaway via the Nassau Expressway.

2.      Between Howard Beach-JFK Airport and Rockaway Parkway stopping at Broad Channel.

Customers may transfer between trains and free shuttle buses at Howard Beach-JFK Airport, Far Rockaway or Rockaway Park.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, October 26 to 5 a.m. Monday, October 28, Brooklyn-bound A  trains run local from 125th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle due to track tie renewal north of 59th Street-Columbus Circle.

S (42nd Street Shuttle)

12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, October 26, Sunday October 27 and Monday, October 28, the 42nd Street shuttle operates through the night due to 7 suspension between Manhattan and Queens.

There will be overnight services disruptions on the E, F, M, R lines in Queens, from Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18 due to the MTA’s Fastrack maintenance program, according to the transit agency.

 

During those times:

E trains won’t operate between Roosevelt Avenue and World Trade Center between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

F trains won’t operate between Roosevelt Avenue and 21 Street-Queensbridge between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

M train service ends early between 71st Avenue and Myrtle Avenue each night.

R line service ends early between 71st Avenue and Whitehall Street each night.

 

Trains will operate as follows:

E – In Queens only between Jamaica Center and 74 St/Roosevelt Av.

F – Service operates in two sections as follows:

  •  Between 179 St and 74 Street/Roosevelt Avenue
  • Between Stillwell Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge

M – Service ends early between 71st Avenue and Myrtle Avenue each night:

  • Service toward Manhattan from 71st Avenue and Myrtle Avenue ends at approximately 8:10 p.m.
  • Service from Manhattan toward 71st Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue ends at approximately 8:40 p.m
  • M line shuttle service between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue runs all night.

R line – Service ends early between 71st Avenue and Whitehall Street each night:

  • The last train to Whitehall Street leaves 71st Avenue at about 8:30 pm.
  • The last train to 71st Avenue leaves Whitehall Street at about 9:30 p.m.
  • R line shuttle service between 95th Street and 36th Street, Brooklyn runs all night.

For alternative service:

Take the 7 line between Manhattan and 74 Street/Roosevelt Avenue or Queensboro Plaza.

Take the N line between Manhattan and Queensboro Plaza.

In Manhattan along 8th Avenue, take the A line or C line instead of the E line. Along 53rd Street, use the D line or nearby 6 line and N line service instead.

In Manhattan, transfer at 5th Avenue/42 St-Bryant Park 7/F line, Times Sq-4nd Sreet/42 Street-Port Authority 7/A line, and 34 Streert-Herald Square F line/N line.

Take the R line between Queens Plaza and 71st Avenue. When R line service ends, E line trains run local between Queens Plaza and 71st Avenue until 10 p.m. After 10 p.m, take the E line between Roosevelt Avenue and 71st Avenue.

Free shuttle buses run local between Queensboro Plaza and 74st Street/Roosevelt Avenue, making station stops at Queens Plaza, 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Bouelvard, and 65th Street.

In Queens, transfer between shuttle buses and trains at 74th Street/Roosevelt Avenue 7 line/F line or Queensboro Plaza 7 line.

D N (FASTRACK)

From 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, there is no D service between Stillwell Avenue and Bay Parkway and no N service between Stillwell Avenue and 86th Street due to FASTRACK shutdown for maintenance, testing and inspection of signal equipment.  Customers may take F or Q trains and the B1, B4, B64 and B82 buses instead.

From 8 p.m. Saturday, October 5 to 5:30 a.m. Sunday, October 6, the last stop for some trains headed toward Coney Island is Bay Parkway due to FASTRACK shutdown for maintenance, testing and inspection of signal equipment.

E

Construction work to upgrade and maintain stations, tracks and signal systems is affecting weekend service on many of the city’s subway lines. The MTA is advising customers to allow for extra travel time if they rely on any of these trains.

Overnight service disruptions on E, M, R trains this week

There will be no service at the 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard and 65th Street subway stations in Queens from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., for four consecutive weeknights from Monday, August 12 to early Friday morning, August 16, according to the MTA. The service changes are part of the transit agency’s Fastrack maintenance program.

During this time, E and R trains run express in both directions between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue, and M service ends early each night between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Essex Street.

  • Free shuttle buses run local between Queens Plaza and 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue, making station stops at Queens Plaza, Queensboro Plaza, 36th Street, Steinway Street, 46th Street, Northern Boulevard and 65th Street.
  • Customers may transfer between shuttle buses and the 7, E, F and R trains at 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue, Queensboro Plaza 7 and N train or Queens Plaza E and R trains.
  • Regular late night R service operates in Brooklyn only between 95th Street and 36th Street.
  • M shuttle trains operate between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue all night.

Note:  At all times until late August 2013, M trains bypass Central Avenue in both directions due to station rehabilitation work at Central Avenue.

N, R 

At all times beginning 11:30 p.m. Friday, August 2 until October 2014, there are no N or R trains running between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan.  Late night N and weekend R service are rerouted over the Manhattan Bridge.

  • No N or R trains in either direction at Jay Street-MetroTech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall.
  • Late night R shuttle in Brooklyn is unaffected.

Weekend subway service changes

Construction work to upgrade and maintain stations, tracks and signal systems is affecting weekend service on many of the city’s subway lines. The MTA is advising customers to allow for extra travel time if they rely on any of these trains.

From 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 12 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 15, there is no 1 train service between 137th Street and 242nd Street due to brick arch repair at 168th and 181st Streets and station work at Dyckman Street.

For service between 137th Street and 168th Street, use free shuttle buses.

For service between 168th Street and 191st Street, use M3 or free shuttle buses.

For Dyckman Street and 207th Street, use nearby A stations.

For stations between 207th Street and 242nd Street, take the A to 207th Street and transfer to free shuttle buses, which make all 1 station stops between 207th Street and 242nd Street.

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, July 13 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 15, 3 trains operate to and from New Lots Avenue all weekend due to switch replacement work south of Wall Street.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday, July 12 to 5 a.m. Monday, July 15, there is no G train service between Court Square and Nassau Avenue.  G trains operate between Nassau Avenue and Church Avenue.  There is no G service at Greenpoint Avenue, 21st Street and Court Square.

Free shuttle buses operate on two routes:

1. Via Manhattan Avenue between Nassau Avenue G and Court Square

2.  Via McGuinness Blvd between Lorimer Street L and Court Square
