Motorcyclist dies in Springfield Gardens crash

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon after he was struck by an SUV in Springfield Gardens, according to authorities.

Stephen-John Salmon of Laurelton was riding his motorcycle west on 140th Avenue when he was struck by a Toyota Highlander traveling southbound on Bedell Street at about 5:50 p.m., police said.

The driver, a 45-year-old woman, was making a left turn onto 140th Avenue when she hit Salmon, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

EMS transported Salmon to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made.


Motorcyclist killed in Glendale crash

A 38-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a collision in Glendale early Sunday morning, according to police.

At about 4:10 a.m., David Malave was riding his bike eastbound on Cypress Avenue when he struck a curb and began to skid toward a second motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man who was stopped at a red light on Cypress Avenue and Cypress Hills Street, cops said. Malave’s motorcycle struck the rear of the second bike before coming to a rest.

Malave was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 43-year-old man was not injured in the accident, according to authorities.


Motorcyclist killed after van strikes group of people in Rosedale

A motorcyclist was killed and several people were injured when a van struck a group of people as they were loading the man’s bike into a pickup truck in Rosedale Friday night, police said.

The 24 year-old victim was riding along Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard that evening when his motorcycle became disabled. A pickup truck and several people met the motorcyclist to help him out at about 8:20 p.m., and, as they were loading the bike into the parked vehicle, a Chevy van hit the rear of the pickup truck and them, cops said.

Another vehicle driving behind the van then struck the rear of the van.

The motorcyclist, who has yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Four of the other people standing on the road and the van’s driver were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.


24-year-old motorcyclist dies in Belt Parkway crash

A Queens Village man was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle collision on the Belt Parkway, cops said.

Officers discovered 24-year-old Julian Smith lying on the ground in the center lane of the Belt Parkway near the Van Wyck Expressway at about 3:50 a.m., according to police.

He was found unconscious and unresponsive next to his bike, and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The investigation is still ongoing.


20-year-old woman dies in Grand Central Parkway motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist was injured and his passenger was killed when he lost control of his bike on the Grand Central Parkway early Tuesday morning, cops said.

The crash happened while the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on the roadway at about 4:30 a.m. just before the 94th Street exit in East Elmhurst, according to police.

The bike’s operator, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition with injuries to his shoulder and legs.

His 20-year-old passenger, Giuseppina Lascalia of Astoria, was also taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where she was pronounced dead,  authorities said.

The investigation is ongoing.
