Suspicious donations for New York City comptroller John C. Liu

The New York Times reports that city comptroller, John C. Liu’s campaign donators seem to be nonexistent. Liu, who boasted about receiving $1 million dollars in financing in donations, seemed to be shocked when informed that a majority of the donations came from people or businesses that didn’t exist, and some that did exist said they never donated money. Liu promises that an investigation will occur to find out what happend. Read More: New York Times

 

Long Island man gets 35 years to life for Elmhurst nightclub stabbing

John Lundi, 26, of West Babylon was sentenced yesterday to 35 years to life for stabbing a man to death outside of the Krystal Club in 2008. The victim Christopher Cotto was stabbed and beaten for standing up to Lundi, following an inappropriate comment made towards the victims girlfriend. Read More: Wall Street Journal

 

Police searching for attempted rape suspect

The police released a sketch of a suspect who assaulted a woman Sunday in Springfield Gardens. The victim was pushed to the ground, punched in the face, and attempted to rape her until a neighbor chased the suspect away. See the sketch and read more: CBS News

 

MTA (Moronic Transportation Activity)

A youtube video has been released of a daredevil who “surfed” a Jamaica bound J train, by hanging onto the outside of the door. It is astounding what lengths people will go to for attention. Barbara Sheehan’s lawyers plan appeal

The chapter of the Barbara Sheehan murder trial is complete, but the story’s conclusion has yet to be written. Sheehan although found not guilty of the murder of her husband was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, which may land her in jail. The defense team for Sheehan vows to appeal the charge and clear her name fully. Read More: Queens Courier
