Suspects wanted in assault at Jackson Heights train station

Police are looking for two suspects wanted in connection with an assault at a Jackson Heights train station last weekend.

On Saturday, May 24 at about 9:46 a.m. a 22-year-old man got into a verbal dispute with two women while on the Manhattan bound No. 7 train platform at the 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue subway station. The two female suspects began to punch the victim on the head and body and then one of them slashed his arm and shoulder with an unknown object, cops said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital, treated and released.

One of the suspects, seen in a photo released by the NYPD, is described as a 35-year-old Hispanic woman with black hair in a ponytail.

Elderly woman, motorcyclist dead in Queens Boulevard crash

An elderly woman and motorcyclist are dead following a collision on Queens Boulevard in Woodside on Saturday, cops said.

Police responded to the accident just after 4:30 p.m. in which the driver of the Suzuki motorcycle, Darien Baker, 31, collided with 78-year-old Marion Kurshuk at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and 58th Street as the pedestrian was crossing the street.

Baker and Kurshuk were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival, police said.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Queens man killed in drunk driving accident on LIE

A Flushing man was arrested today for killing his passenger during a drunk driving accident on the Long Island Expressway (LIE), said police.

The driver, 39-year-old Ricardo Rivas, was travelling eastbound on the LIE around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday when he hit the median right after the 108th Street exit, injuring all four of his passengers.

Carlos Rivas, 27, of Oakland Gardens, who was sitting in the front seat, was transported to Booth Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The three other passengers were transported to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities arrested Rivas at the scene, charging him with vehicular manslaughter criminally negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated.
