A Queens man was arrested after he allegedly shipped military-grade items to China and Taiwan illegally, according to the FBI.

Mark Henry, 49, was arrested and charged on December 6 with shipping defense goods with military applications to customers in Asia from his New York City export company without the required licenses. He is accused of sending military-grade material used as a protective coating for rocket nozzles and microwave amplifiers, which have military uses in addition to commercial uses, the FBI said.

“Preventing the illegal export of sensitive U.S origin commodities that enhance the military capabilities of foreign nations is our top priority. We are constantly striving to maintain the technological advantage of U.S fighting forces,” said DOC Special Agent in Charge Sidney Simon.

Henry is charged with conspiracy to violate the Arms Export Control Act, a violation of the Arms Export Control Act and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and an attempt to violate the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

If found guilty he faces up to 45 years in prison.
