Suspects trick, rob elderly Astoria woman

These two men allegedly robbed a woman in Astoria after telling her they needed to check the electric inside her apartment.

Police are looking for two men who fooled a 79-year-old woman into letting them into her apartment, then robbed her.

The suspects approached the victim in Astoria around 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 1 and told her they needed to enter her apartment to check the electric, said cops.

Once inside the woman’s home, one of the men looked at the outlets, while the other took her cash and jewelry, then they fled.

Both suspects are white, one is in his 40s and the second is 25 years old. Their vehicle is described as a silver Volkswagen.
