Company: Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care & Rehabilitation
Title: Director of Food Services

1. What do you love about your job and why?

I love the challenge. Every day is full of challenges that I face head on. I love knowing that I made a difference and that all my hard work is for the residents. At the end of the day, I’ve made someone’s day better with something as simple as a cup of peppermint tea.

2. What are your business goals over the next five years?

Once my kids are older and my schedule is not so frenetic, I plan on going back to school to get my masters degree in health care administration. I would like to someday be as knowledgeable about health care as Parker’s Administrative team and CEO Michael Rosenblut.

3. How do you give back to the community?

I mentor employees that are less fortunate that would have gone in the wrong direction without guidance. I can see potential in people that they don’t see in themselves — I am currently mentoring three employees that are enrolled in the Food Service Management Course; I help them set and achieve goals by encouraging them to seek a career in Food Service Management.
