Joseph DiGeronimo
Joseph “Peppi” DiGeronimo of Jackson Heights passed away on May 30.
A World War II veteran, he was an Army Combat Engineer in the Philippines, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was an active member of the Department of Veteran Affairs and the United War Veterans Council of N.Y.C., serving as a mentor for wounded vets.
Beloved brother of Clementina Allured and Jerry DiGeronimo and the late Lori DiGeronimo. Loving uncle of Steven (Joan) Allured, Gina (Kevin) Byrne and the late Jonathan Allured. Dear great uncle of Tyler and Conor Byrne.
Arrangements were handled by the Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home in Bayside. A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.

Kathleen Magnus Barber
Kathleen Magnus Barber, widow of Dr. Paul Barber, passed away on June 3 at age 90.
A devoted mother, she is survived by her three children, Peter, Walter and Laurie.
In her early years she was a professional operetta singer and excelled at the piano. Later she was a nurse and dental office receptionist.
Family and friends say she will be remembered as “a gentle person who leaves a legacy of kindness and a trail of good deeds.”
Arrangements were handled by Sinai Chapels in Fresh Meadows. Interment was at Westchester Hills Cemetery.

Cecilia Tully
Cecilia Tully of Flushing passed away on June 4.
Beloved wife of the late William F. Loving mother of Mary Pat Tully, Joanne Tully, Michael, Billy and the late Carol Tomasi. Devoted mother-in-law of Vincent and his wife Claire Tomasi and Wendi Tully.
Grandmother of four and great-grandmother of one. Loving sister of Ronald Gallagher and the late Madeline Murphy and William Gallagher.
Arrangements were handled by the Martin A. Gleason Funeral Home in Bayside. A Mass of Christian burial was held at Mary’s Nativity Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery.
