Lunar New Year Parade

By Queens Courier Staff |

In celebration of the Year of the Rat, crowds came out this past weekend to watch the 13th annual Lunar New Year Parade in Flushing. Dragons and lion dancers marched up Main Street (photo above) as four-year-old Joanna Lin caught confetti (photo right). The parade route stretched from Union Street at 37th Avenue to Main Street and 37th Avenue. The Lunar New Year celebration begins on the first full moon of the New Year and lasts for nearly a month.
