Queens Theatre hosted a special event to launch Queens in Your Pocket, a guide to the borough created by The Queens Courier in cooperation with the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC). It includes insightful articles on local attractions, eye-popping photography, helpful maps, lists of highly-recommended restaurants and hotels and colorful advertisements by local businesses.
“We are delighted to bring to Queens and its tourists an informative guide to our great borough,” said Victoria Schneps-Yunis, publisher.
The 114-page handbook features photos of Queens scenes and residents on the cover. Inside, the text provides detailed descriptions of about 40 venues — such as museums, theaters, sports and entertainment venues, nature and parks and the hotspots within Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, where the borough’s most famous landmark, The Unisphere, makes its home.
Jessica Lau, an intern from Queens College, performed the graphic-design duties.
“This Queens in Your Pocket resource can take you to many places and help you to discover all that our great county has to offer in entertainment, culture and epicurean delights,” Borough President Helen Marshall said.
