Blog: Darryl Strawberry

Darryl Strawberry

Darryl Strawberry is a New York baseball legend, winning four World Series — one with the Mets, three with the Yankees — during his playing days .  Known for his moon shot homeruns, Strawberry was a team leader on one of the most successful runs in Met history.  The Met Hall of Famer slugged the most homeruns in franchise history while winning Rookie of the Year and playing on seven All-Star teams during his time in Flushing.  After stops back home in Los Angeles with the Dodgers and in San Francisco, Strawberry returned to New York to finish his career with the Yankees.

After finding so much success on the field in Queens, Strawberry returned to the borough where he made his name.  Strawberry opened Strawberry’s Sports Grill in Douglaston in 2010 and it has quickly become a neighborhood favorite to relax and watch the game or grab a delicious meal.
