Wonderful women honored
For the 10th year we celebrated the talented and devoted “Top Women in Business” in Queens.
Sixteen of the women we previously honored were inducted into our newly-created “Hall of Fame.”
Their gift was a rhinestone pin of interlocking hearts. I found it and immediately realized it was a perfect pin for the powerful women because each of them gives her heart, both to her business and to her family and friends. Each one loved her gift and also received a plaque to commemorate the recognition.
We added 31 women as “Top Women in Business” and each one, as you have read in The Queens Courier over the past few weeks, is extraordinary and does extraordinary work.
What a night it was, with 700 people cheering them on. It was great to share the emcee duties with FOX Business News anchor Cheryl Casone. I felt so happy to be able to bring the honorees’ achievements to the forefront and have another woman, our beloved Borough President Helen Marshall, add her Kudos to the others.
An added bonus, to everyone’s delight, was Guardian Angel Curtis Sliwa, who escorted former Councilmember Melinda Katz.
It was a night of joyousness where happiness reigned, similar to the night two days later when Peter and Denise became man and wife.
