My gripe this week concerns the three ring circus in Albany with a bunch of bozos running the show. Now, State Senators reached an agreement before breaking for a three-day weekend and they continue to spend our tax dollars on their salaries. Lawmakers authorized paychecks for themselves and their staff, even though no bills have been discussed or voted on in 12 days. Here’s something to think about and that is if you or I decided not to do any work and than asked to be paid, our bosses would show us the door. He or she might even say, "Don’t let the door hit you on the way out."
The court and Governor Paterson don’t seem to be able to end the stalemate. I find this a terrible shame and an insult to every taxpayer and voter in the state. We have many bills that need to be voted on from same sex marriage to who runs the Board of Education. Our elected representatives fail to realize the good of the people is in serious jeopardy.
Now, I have a question and that is what is the reason for the stalemate? Oh, that’s right, the battle is over who would be the top dog. Can anyone tell me who let the dogs out? I think the Senate should be forced by the court to give back the salary they were paid, and should be fined to boot.
Meanwhile, Governor Paterson ordered a special session this week. Senators were required to attend but not to vote. That’s just wonderful. I wholeheartedly believe that we the people deserve better from these rascals.
