Ron Paul Versus Mitt Romney – A Choice Not An Echo

Recent Republican primary results from both Iowa and New Hampshire make the case libertarian Republican Texas Congressmember Ron Paul is the real best GOP candidate for president.  He is polling #1 with under 30, first time and independent voters.  All three are critical in building a winning coalition in the November General Election. He has received seven times the amount of donations from military donors over both Romney and Santorum.  This confirms his foreign policy positions are actually main stream and validated by those on the front lines who would know best.

Many voters, like Paul, cherish economic and civil liberties. We believe what consenting adults consume, inhale, perform, read or view in the privacy of their own home or private social club isn’t the concern of government. Individual economic and civil liberties prosper best when government stays out of both the bedroom and marketplace.

We do not support the massive deficit spending that has resulted in today’s fifteen trillion dollar long term debt. We oppose the thousands of Congressional earmarks supporting tens of billions of dollars in pork barrel member item spending. We are no fan of corporate welfare or spending billions on useless weapons systems supported by Congress but not requested by the Pentagon.

Consider implementing “pay-as-go” budgeting, means testing for all government assistance programs, sunset provisions for agencies and programs that have completed their missions. We should end pork-barrel member item spending and stop paying farmers to not growing crops. Next, abolish corporate welfare subsides via favorable tax code deductions and start a real campaign against waste, fraud and abuse.  We have to close down obsolete military bases abroad and reduce United Nations and foreign aid to those who offer us no support when needed. End the wasteful war in Afghanistan. Additionally, we have to return to open budget process agency by agency rather than the midnight omnibus budget adoption and presidential use of the line item veto when Congress fails to follow all of the above. Failure to do so will result in America going from the world’s superpower to the world’s super debtor nation. Not only the poor, but our vast middle class will suffer. There will be no safety net for anyone if we don’t have a real plan to pay our bills today rather than kicking the can to future generations. We need real action today, rather than to wait until 2023 to balance our budget. Paul offers voters a real choice versus the other GOP Presidential candidates who collectively offer more of the status quo.
