Build it and they will come

There is still much controversy over the Mosque being built near ground zero. Politicians, community leaders, religious leaders and many people from all walks of life are all weighing in on this nation-wide debate. There seems to be no end in sight. Even Sunday August 22, at the proposed site, there were heated rallies taking place – both for and against. But try to remember this as we approach the anniversary of that day of infamy on 9/11 and then decide if this Mosque is too close.

Added to that – as reported by the media – Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf who is behind the plan to build the Mosque has had questionable sympathy for various Muslim groups that are anti-American and anti-Jewish and had made a statement that was derogatory a week after 9/11. The issue now goes beyond freedom of religion. The issue is where is the money coming from to build the Mosque? Are those that are sponsoring the project using the freedom of religion as a ploy to engage in any nefarious activities? Gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio is right. This project is all wrong. It’s too bad some people don’t see it that way.

Remember this: If they build it, they will come – that is the terrorists.
