11/11/11 11:11:11 Palindrome Friday

| doconnor@queenscourier.com |

This week we will be seeing something that hasn’t been seen in 100 years and won’t be seen for another 100 years. On November 11th, 2011 (11/11/11) at 11:11:11 (AM & PM), the time and date will be a perfect same-numbered palindrome. A palindrome is a word, phrase or number that can be read the exact same way backwards and forwards. The reason this Palindrome Friday is extra exciting is because it is the only palindrome that consists entirely of a single digit. The following are some examples of palindromes.

“a man, a plan, a canal, panama”

“don’t nod”

“never odd or even”

“madam, i’m adam”

“some men interpret nine memos”

Do you know any palindromes? If you do, please comment on this blog post and I will add them on my facebook (www.facebook.com/DevonOConnor) on November 11th, 2011!
