The Bay Terrace Pool and Tennis Center is a recreational facility nestled in the heart of Bayside. For more than 20 years the center, which is owned and operated by the Samuel Field YM&YWHA, has provided families with a great environment for both play and learning.
With summer just around a corner, now is the perfect time to become a member. Members enjoy access to gorgeous tennis courts, a basketball court and swimming pool — all immaculately maintained. If all that activity sounds a bit exhausting, just enjoy a seat out on the patio and grab a bite at the center’s gourmet snack bar.
“We’re very family oriented,” said Center Director Jessica Grabowski. “There something here for everybody, from a year old to 99 years old.”
The summer months at the center offer a ton of opportunities for family entertainment. Parents can enroll their children, ages 2-and-a-half to 6 in the summer “Kidz Club,” which operates weekdays through July and August. Enjoy weekly family nights that feature live musical entertainment, karaoke and activities for children of all ages. Special events hosted throughout the summer provide the perfect chance to take advantage of the beautiful weather while spending time together as a family.
While membership to the center offers tremendous advantages, even non-members can enroll in the center’s swimming classes. Private lessons are offered for all ages and taught by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Improving your swimming skills lets you enjoy summer to the fullest by giving you the confidence to feel safe in the water while enjoying a popular summer pastime.
At the Bay Terrace Pool and Tennis Center, the fun doesn’t end with the summer, said Grabowski. During the school year the center offers a nursery school, after school daycare and a program for teens.
More than just being a recreation facility, explained Grabowski, “We’re a community center, so we’re a year-round facility.”
