Who’s Backing Whom in ‘09

New York State Assemblymember Jose Peralta and New York City Councilmember Julissa Ferreras have announced their support for S.J. Jung in the race for City Council District 20.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg has received the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Joint Council 16 in his bid for re-election. Likewise, the New York City Council of Carpenters have put their support behind the Mayor. The leaders of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community have also expressed their support for Bloomberg, along with the Log Cabin Republicans.

The 504 Democratic Club has thrown their support to Helen Marshall as she hopes for a second term as Queens Borough President.




Eric Gioia, in his bid for New York City Public Advocate, was the recipient of an endorsement from Congressmember Greg Meeks as well as other southeast Queens officials and community leaders.

In the race for City Council District 23, Mark Weprin was endorsed by Congressmembers Gary Ackerman, Anthony Weiner and Greg Meeks.

Jimmy Van Bramer has received the support of the Hotel Trades Council in his bid for City Council District 26.

Paul Vallone, who is running for City Council District 19, has announced his support for Mark Green in his effort for New York City Public Advocate. Green in return has thrown his support to Vallone.
