2014 St. Pat's for All Parade
The 2014 St. Pat’s for All Parade begins in Sunnyside at the corner of 47th Street & Skillman Ave. and ends in Woodside at Woodside Ave. & 58th Street. Participants are advised to show up at about 1:00 pm, and the parade kicks off at 2:00 pm.
Celebrating its 15th year, St. Pat's for All is New York's most diverse St. Patrick's parade, embracing LGBT contingents, Irish organizations, labor unions, social justice organizations, religious and civic groups, and a variety of festive performers -- all in celebration of Ireland and the Irish-American experience. While there are many St. Patrick’s parades held throughout March in the five boroughs, St. Pat’s for All is the only fully-inclusive parade, welcoming all groups who wish to share in the spirit of the day. The parade's slogan "cherishing all the children of the nation equally" taken from the 1916 Easter Proclamation of the Irish Republic, exemplifies the Irish tradition of tolerance and hospitality.
This year's Grand Marshals are New York State Sen. Tom Duane and the founder of the HIV Law Project Terry McGovern.
The family friendly event will include an entertaining assortment of marching groups, including: the Keltic Dreams Irish step dancers from PS 59 in the Bronx, Girl Scouts, Boys' Clubs, school marching bands, Irish drummer Brian Flemming, the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance, Mexican dancers, Korean drummers, puppeteers, stilt walkers, NYU and Scottish pipers, and the FDNY's Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.
All of New York is invited to the city's only inclusive St. Patrick's Parade as we celebrate Irish culture and identity, whether by birth, heritage, or simply by affection.
