AARP - Membership Drive

Chapter 4158 North Flushing
March 12th 12:00 – 3:00pm
At Church On The Hill

“Our community is the place where we, as older
individuals, can be most effective…”
Dr Ethel Percy Andrus – Founder of AARP in 1988

Many people have the perception that the AARP is nothing more than a
social club where old people while away the hours, playing cards, drinking
tea and eating donuts. Nothing could be further from the truth.
AARP promotes independence, dignity and accomplishment for the older
American. Our members look for opportunities and important needs of our
local community and find ways to help. Our chapter has raised over
$55,000 for various charities, supported local soup
kitchens and collected eye glasses for the needy – are but a few examples.
Joining us is not all work. You need to be 50 years or older. Our members
share the same interests, memories, and concerns. We share information
and enjoy each other’s company. We meet monthly, the second Tuesday of
the month, between 12 noon to 3pm. We discuss current events,
have entertainment, and lectures. We also have monthly field trips
to various interesting destinations.
Come join us, or even stop by and visit. Our meeting location is Church on
the Hill, 167-05 35th Avenue, Flushing NY. Refreshments will be served.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the President
of our chapter, Carol Stenger at
