4-year-old boy drowns at Fourth of July party

Oswald Lewis, who was reportedly wanted for drug smuggling and a Brooklyn stabbing, was captured after a shootout in Springfield gardens with authorities.

A Fourth of July party ended with tragedy after a 4-year-old drowned in a relative’s pool, according to authorities.

Police received a call at 6 p.m. of an unconscious child at a Douglas Manor home after he was found in the home’s pool.

The victim, Christos Voulkoudis, 4, was rushed to North Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said no criminality is suspected in the tragedy.
