Police seek rapist

Police are looking for an armed man they say raped a woman.

On Thursday, October 13, the victim, 20, was walking in the vicinity of 108th Drive and Merrick Boulevard when she was approached by the suspect, armed with a box cutter, who took her to a secluded area and raped her.

Cops say the perp is a black male, 20 to 23 years old, 5’5″ tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has a Caesar style haircut and was wearing a black bandana, black waist-length leather jacket and dark jeans.

Discover dead body

On Wednesday, October 12, police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a possible dead body at the rear of 184-54 149th Avenue.

When police arrived they discovered an unidentified body at the location. EMS also responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead. A medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

 

Sexual assault suspect sought

Police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a 23-year-old woman on Wednesday, October 12 in the vicinity of 226th Street and South Conduit Avenue.

The suspect is a black male in his 20s, 5’3″- 5’5″ tall with a medium build. The suspect has acne scars on his face and a thin mustache.

Alleged robber collared

            Police have arrested a man they say committed two robberies.

According to a police source, Albert Rodriguez was taken into custody on the Manhattan-bound platform of the 111th Street station of the “A” train on Thursday, October 13.

It was at 6:45 when an armed robber held up a grocery store at 106th Street and 101st Avenue; he fled with cash.

An hour later, police got a call of a robbery inside an electronics store at 111th Street and 101st Avenue. This time the suspect allegedly stole merchandise and fled, but the store owner chased him.

The perp allegedly fired, though no one was hit. Police arrested Rodriguez and recovered cash, a gun and merchandise. The source says he was connected to both incidents.

Woman killed in hit-and-run

On Sunday, October 16, police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a pedestrian struck at 127th Avenue and Merrick Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers saw a 40-year-old woman, later identified as Toyia Jones, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded to location and took the victim to Queens General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
