Robert M. Werner, Vice President for Finance/CFO of Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care & Rehabilitation

Given the uncertain economy, the proposed cuts in programs such as Medicare and Medicaid, and the unprecedented growth of the older adult population, perhaps no other contemporary executive is faced with more challenges than the financial heads of long term care organizations. At the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, located in New Hyde Park, Robert M. Werner has helped meet those challenges with a wealth of experience, expertise and energy, and remarkable determination.

Mr. Werner possesses more than thirty years of experience in health care accounting and finance, including positions with the Catholic Health Care System; Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital; Urban Health Plan, Inc.; and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, that covered the full spectrum of all operating financial services. His financial management of Parker’s constellation of programs and services, encompassing short term rehabilitation, sub-acute care, a nursing home, adult day health care, an Alzheimer center, home health care, hospice, an on-site dialysis center, a medical transportation division and a center for research and grants, helps ensure quality of care for more than 5,000 older adults annually, enables more than 2,000 chronically ill and frail adults to live at home each year, and accelerates medical knowledge and advances in patient care. During Mr. Werner’s tenure at Parker, the Institute has become an even more significant part of the local and regional economy, employing more than 1,000 and purchasing over $25 million of goods and services annually.

Bob Werner resides in Floral Park, with his wife, Veronica, sons, Michael and Robert, and daughters Kathleen, Kelly and Grace, and is active in coaching local youth sports programs
