1. What do you love about your job and why?
I love the people. That includes both the people I serve and those I work with. Working in a place where what you do is correlated to the well-being and livelihood of individuals is gratifying. I also work with an amazing staff — colleagues, subordinates, and superiors are all hard-working and committed to the organization’s mission. To quote Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
2. What are your business goals over the next five years?

I plan to continue to work with entrepreneurs and be involved with local economic development initiatives that can spurt innovation and provide: solutions to unanswered problems, reach and assist under-served markets, and stimulate economic activity in disadvantaged communities.
3. How do you give back to the community?
Working for the QEDC lets me give back to the community by helping individuals start businesses, providing them with resources and empowering people to take steps that will make them successful in business. Educating people with the right information to make appropriate business decisions can have a huge impact on their success and well being. I also have taught for “Computers for Youth,” a not-for-profit organization, that gives children computers to take home, and gives them software to continue learning outside of school. Giving back to people from communities that are similar to ones I’ve grown-up in is very self-rewarding.
