Pedestrian killed on Merrick Boulevard

Police investigate the scene where a 58-year-old man was struck and killed by a white 1999 Infinity SUV driven by a 35-year-old woman while he was crossing Merrick Boulevard between 115th Avenue and 116th Street in Jamaica on Saturday, September 4. There is no criminality suspected at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

Hit-and-run on Jamaica Avenue

A man was struck and killed – and the driver fled — on Sunday September 5 at Jamaica Avenue and 85th Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they determined that the victim, a 45-year-old man, was struck by a dark colored SUV that was traveling eastbound on Jamaica Avenue. The vehicle fled the location. The man was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he later died.

Eighteen-year-old missing again

Police are asking for your help in finding Delvin Garcia, 18, last seen on Thursday, September 2 leaving his Queens Village residence.

He described as 5’3" tall, 100 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, camouflage shorts and black shoes.

The missing person has a fascination with the New York City Subway System and has previously been found riding trains in Manhattan and Queens.

Man on bicycle allegedly robs victims

The NYPD is asking for your help in identifying the man wanted in connection with five grand larcenies. Police say the suspect approaches the victims on a either a red or silver BMX bicycle, takes their property and flees the location.

The incidents are as follows:

1. July 28 in front of 63-74 Austin Street – the suspect approached a 14-year-old male from behind and removed a chain from around his neck.

2. August 2 at 66th Road and 108th Street – the suspect approached a 15-year-old male from behind and removed a chain from around his neck.

3. August 12 at 62nd Drive and Junction Boulevard – the suspect approached a 21-year-old woman from behind and took her purse.

4. August 22 in front of 102-35 64th Road – the suspect approached a 13-year-old male from behind and removed his chain.

5. August 28 at 99th Street and 62nd Drive — the suspect approached a 13-year-old male from behind and removed his chain.

Teen arrested in fatal shooting

An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with two shootings – one fatal – on Saturday, July 31.

Tareef Armstead is charged with murder, attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment in connection with the shooting that left Robinson Lajeunesse, 19, dead and a 17-year-old with a bullet in his abdomen.

Men sought for armed home invasion

Police are looking for three individuals wanted in connection with a robbery-home invasion that occurred in the confines of the 115th Precinct.

On Wednesday, August 26, four men, one of which was brandishing a black handgun, forced their way into a home located at 25-51 97th Street, where they forced three tenants to lie on the floor and held them at gunpoint while they took a laptop, a cell phone, plasma television and an undetermined amount of cash from the house. All suspects then fled.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect one is a male black 18 to 23, approximately 5’6” to 6”, wearing a white T-shirt, blue cap with the letter “P” and dark pants.

Suspect two is a black male 18 to 22, approximately 5’6” to 6”, wearing a white T-shirt, blue multi colored cap and dark pants

Suspect number three is a black male 20 to 25, approximately 5’6” to 6”, wearing a multi-colored long sleeved button down shirt and dark pants

The fourth suspect is a black male, 22 to 25, approximately 5’6” to 6”, wearing a red hooded sweater and dark jeans
