Zalmen Mlotek

Queens Theatre in the Park

Sunday, February 21

A tribute to 100 years of Yiddish theatre music with Zalmen Mlotek will be held at Queens Theatre in the Park, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 21.

Mlotek is the artistic director of the National Yiddish Theatre. He will be joined by Daniella Rabbani and the New Yiddish Chorale.

Tickets are $33 or $31 for seniors and $20 for students.

Art Lecture

Godwin-Ternbach Museum

Wednesday, February 24

An art lecture will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24 at the Godwin-Ternbach Museum, located on the Queens College campus, at 65-30 Kissena Boulevard in Flushing.

The topic will be “Reading Between the Lines: Women and Identity in Early Modern Books.” It will be given by Joni Hand, an adjunct assistant professor in Queens College’s art department.

The “2009 Emerging Artist Fellowship Exhibition” will be on display at the Socrates Sculpture Park, located at 31-01 Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City, through March 7.

It features artists David Brooks, Pilar Conde, Zack Davis, Christian de Vietri, Aaron King, Zak Kitnick, Lynn Koble, Tamara Kostianovsky, Mads Lynnerup, Wyatt Nash, Navin June Norling, Andréa Stanislav, Brina Thurston, Kon Trubkavich, Lan Tuazon and Erik and Ninh Vysocan.
