The Chinese Blue Pipa Trio will perform at Flushing Town Hall, located at 137-35 Northern Boulevard, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 6.
The event is part of the Lunar New Year Festival. The members of the trio are vocalist and pipa player Min Xiao-Fen, bassist Mark Helias, and guitarist Steve Salerno.

‘Ain’t I a Woman’
York College Performing Arts Center

“Ain’t I a Woman” will be performed at the York College Performing Arts Center, located at 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard in Jamaica, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 6 by The Core Ensemble.
The show will celebrate the lives of ex-slave and abolitionist Sojourner Truth, novelist and anthropologist Zora Neale Hurston, folk artist Clementine Hunter and civil rights worker Fannie Lou Hamer.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

Young Soloist Competition
Queens Symphony Orchestra

The Queens Symphony Orchestra will hold the final round recital of its Young Soloist Competition at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 7 at the Taiwan Center, which is located at 137-44 Northern Boulevard in Flushing.
Prizes include cash and a chance to perform with the Queens Symphony Orchestra.

Poetry Reading
Steinway Library

A poetry reading will be held at the Steinway Library, located at 21-45 31st Street in Long Island City, at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 8.
It will feature Harry Bailey, who will read some of his own poems and those by other poets.
