Update
A police source has said that, although there are no leads in the case of the attempted rape in Forest Park, patrols have increased, including plainclothes and mounted officers.
103rd PRECINCT
Homicide
On Tuesday, June 30, in front of 105-19 171st Street, police responded to a call of shots fired. Upon arrival and further investigation it was determined that a 33-year-old man was shot in the head.
EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead on the scene. There are no arrests at this time, the investigation is ongoing.
104th PRECINCT
Teen allegedly arrested
A 17-year-old was reportedly arrested for mugging three other teens.
The incident occurred on 61st Street near Laurel Hill Boulevard in Maspeth on June 22.
The suspect allegedly took an iPod and rummaged through the bag of one of the victims.
He was arrested and reportedly charged with robbery and attempted robbery.
109th PRECINCT
Elderly man dies
Luigi Cerrone, 83, died on Saturday, June 27 when, according to reports, he slipped into a sewage drain on his commercial property and suffocated.
Reports claim that Cerrone, of Bayside, was cleaning out the drain at Cafe People on Northern Boulevard in Flushing when he slipped, got stuck, and reportedly suffocated.
He was pronounced dead on the scene. An investigation is ongoing and a medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
