Vocalist and vocal historian Giacomo Gates will perform at Flushing Town Hall at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18.

Gates will “bring to life the sounds of Eddie Jefferson, Babs Gonzalez, King Pleasure and the great legends of Vocalese.”

The suggested donation for the event is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

Elie Siegmeister Centennial

“An Elie Siegmeister Centennial Concert with Helene Williams & Leonard Lehram” will be held at Queens College at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 19.

Williams and Lehram are co-founders of The Elie Siegmeister Society. The concert will celebrate the 100th birthday of Siegmeister, a composer.

The performance will feature music by Siegmeister and his students, including Stephen Albert, Herbert Deutsch, Jack Gallagher, Stephen Lawrence, Lehram, Joseph Pehrson, Michael Shapiro, Richard White and Tom Cipullo.

Admission is free.

“Hats Off to You!”

Queens Museum of Art

Thursday, April 23

“Hats Off to You! A Celebration of Head Coverings from Around the World in Queens” will be held at the Queens Museum of Art on Thursday, April 23 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The event is being presented by the museum and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall. Those attending the event are encouraged to “wear a hat or head covering with special meaning for you.”
