The Queens Jazz Orchestra will perform at Flushing Town Hall at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29.
The 17-piece orchestra is led by Jimmy Heath. The mission of the orchestra “is to rejuvenate and revitalize the musical legacy that has existed in Queens for decades by performing music from the legends that lived throughout the borough and exposing new generations to their compositions.
Tickets cost $40 or $32 for members.

Korean Storytelling & Dance
East Flushing Library
Saturday, May 30
An event with Korean storytelling and dance will be presented at the East Flushing Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30.
The guest performer will be Korean dancer Young Ok Hong, who will be joined by Soh Young Lee-Segredo. The stories will be told in Korean and English.

‘The University of Trash’
SculptureCenter
Through August 3
The exhibition “The University of Trash” will be on display at the SculptureCenter through August 3.
The project was created by Michael Cataldi and Nils Norman. The exhibit will feature there will be workshops, talks, concerts and film screenings.
SculptureCenter is located at 49-19 Purves Street in Long Island City. It is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday to Monday.
