‘Yaa Samar! Dance Theater’

“Yaa Samar! Dance Theater” will take place at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15.
It will feature the three original pieces “Among the Ruins,” “Frozen Belief” and Skirt Dance.”
Tickets cost $15 or $10 for students.

‘Jamaica Farewell’
York College Performing Arts Center
Saturday, November 15

“Jamaica Farewell,” which is a 2007 New York International Fringe Festival winner, will be performed at the York College Performing Arts Center at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 15.
The show tells the life of Debra Ehrhardt, who got involved with smuggling money as a way to fulfill her dream of leaving Jamaica to come to the United States.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

New Works Showcase
Green Space
Sunday, November 16

Green Space will hold a new works showcase at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 16.
The performance will feature the works of choreographers Elizabeth Wilkinson, Diane Tomasi, Lia McPherson, Mana Kawamura and Cecilia Flores.
Following the performance, there will be a discussion moderated by Dance Entropy Artistic Director Valerie Green.
Admission is $10.

Inti Illimani
Queens Theatre in the Park

A concert featuring Inti Illimani will be held at Queens Theatre in the Park at 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 22.
The group is from Chile and includes guitarists, violinists, the Andean flutes and percussion. It “creates a cathedral-like setting for solo voices and soaring harmonies.”
Tickets are $40 or $38 for seniors and $22 for students.
