“Geraldine’s New Art Show & Sale”

“Geraldine’s New Art Show & Sale” will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 19 at the East Elmhurst Library.
The show will feature the work of local artist Geraldine Benfante. The pieces will include watercolors, acrylics and mixed media.

“Evita” Auditions
BroadHollow Theatre at Elmont

The BroadHollow Theatre at Elmont will hold auditions for its upcoming production of “Evita” at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 21 and Wednesday, July 23.
The only role that is not open is that of Evita. Those wishing to audition will need to bring sheet music in proper key that is 16 bars in length. They must also bring a photo and resume and be prepared to dance.
The show will run from October 11 to November 2 in the Elmont theatre and from January 10 to February 1 at BayWay Arts/East Islip.

Calpulli Mexican Dance
Live at the Gantries

As part of the series “Live at the Gantries,” Calpulli Mexican Dance will perform at Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22.
The series is being presented by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation in association with Queens Council on the Arts, Queens Theatre in the Park, and the New York Water Taxi. Rockrose Development Corp. is the sponsor.
Calpulli Mexican Dance “celebrates the rich regional traditions of Mexico by telling stories through colorful dance pieces.”

“That Was Then… This Is Now”

The exhibition “That Was Then …This Is Now” will be on display at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center through September.
Featuring more than 50 artists, the exhibition “is inspired by the artistic and socio-political climate of the late 1960s, and features artists united by the desire to mobilize art as a means of change.”
