Vocalist Carla Cook

Vocalist Carla Cook will perform at the York College Performing Arts Center on Friday, November 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A jazz singer and songwriter, Cook’s music has “elements of R&B, European classical, Motown, Blues and Gospel.”
The concert is part of the Chamber Music Series, which is free and open to the public.

Women Jazz Greats of Queens
LaGuardia Performing Arts Center

The Astoria Jazz Band will perform a tribute to Queens’ women jazz greats on Friday, November 16 at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center.
The 10-piece group is led by Carol Sudhalter. The show will feature the music of Billie Holiday, Julie Mandel and Sarah Jutta Hipp, among others.
The concert will run from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are $13, or $10 for students and musicians.

Classical Music Concert with Albert Zak
Flushing Library
Saturday, November 17

A classical music concert with Albert Zak will take place at the Flushing Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17.
Zak, a native of Canada, was four years old when he began playing the piano. The concert will feature solo and chamber music by Franz Liszt and Frederic Chopin.

‘Yue Minjun and the Symbolic Smile’

Through January 6

The exhibition “Yue Minjun and the Symbolic Smile” will be on display at the Queens Museum of Art through January 6.
This marks the first time that Minjun has had an exhibition in the United States. The exhibit at the Queens Museum of Art has paintings and sculptures.
